Currently, Stella serves on a number of Boards including the following:

Until June of 2003, Stella served on the Board of Laidlaw Inc., North America's largest provider of school
and inter-city bus transport, public transit, patient transportation and emergency department management
services with over 100,000 employees. In the three years prior to June 2003, she participated in the
successful restructuring of the company. Laidlaw was the first company to simultaneously work its way
through both CCAA in Canada and Chapter 11 in the US.
Until September of 2002, Stella was on the Board of Enmax Corporation, Calgary's electricity distribution
and energy services company, during the time the corporation was transforming from a city department to a
multi-billion dollar competitor in the deregulated Alberta electricity industry. In addition, until May of
2000 when both companies were purchased by international firms, Stella was also a director of AGRA Inc.,
a large international engineering firm, and Perigee Inc., an investment management firm. During these
transactions, Stella served on the Independent Committees of both Boards charged with assessing the
transactions for the benefit of the shareholders.
Stella is or has been a member of various committees on the boards of which she is a member, including
Audit, Compliance and Ethics, Human Resource, Governance and Nominating Committees. In addition,
she currently chairs a Governance and Human Resource Committee and a Pension Committee.
In past years, Stella has been a member of the Board of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada (1993-00),
Mount Royal College Board of Governors (1994-00), the Prime Minister's National Advisory Board on
Science and Technology (1991-94), and the Alberta Research Council (1993-99).
Before becoming a consultant in 1991, Stella worked in the petroleum industry, first in Australia and then
in Canada. She has held senior positions with major oil companies in the exploration and production
sectors. Latterly, she had responsibility for a number of large operating departments at Petro-Canada in the
refining and marketing sector including refined product distribution, product supply and trading, and the
credit card operation. As a Vice President, she was responsible for many diverse areas in the Products
Division including strategic planning, the controller function, information systems, materials management
and energy futures trading.
Stella has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Calgary and M.A. in Economics from the University
of Alberta.
